Rising Tides: A Fundraising Resilience Toolkit is designed for nonprofits, grassroots organizers, and community-led groups navigating a hostile, austerity-driven funding landscape. Rather than teaching you to “compete better,” it treats fundraising as part of a broader struggle over power, public funding, and community self-determination. The toolkit offers practical tools—like a “Should We Apply?” assessment rubric, guidance on municipal/provincial/federal and philanthropic funding, frameworks for equitable partnerships and co-submissions, and ways to integrate research and diversify revenue without reproducing harm. The sector is in trouble but we believe it can bounce back–just as some previously depleted tidepools have started to. This toolkit is grounded in that same hope, Rising Tides helps teams make strategic decisions, protect capacity, and build reciprocal relationships across the sector.
